We face a different cultural problem here. Now the words, "It is because I'm black..." "You can't do that because I'm black." are responses to many circumstances--from boundary setting by teachers, to classsroom activities and social gatherings.

Oh, Sam,
That's one of my favorite scriptures. Just today I read Psalm 91 which assured me that "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.'" As my memory continues to fade, I've been afraid that I will forget how to worship God. I'll be having an EEG & Ct scan of the brain to see if it might be dementia. I'm growing fearful of that darkness. But Psalm 91 and what you wrote in "Hands" bring me much comfort and reassurance. Thank you for reminding me! And praise God for coordinating this message today!

Sam,
I remember the kindness of your dad in the garage, always wanting to help us build something, ... anything rather. I have many fond memories from my time spent at your home. Halloween with him coming out of the woods with a really loud chainsaw, Your mom's kindness is still engraved in my memories also. I have been blessed in this life with many great friends. I am very proud to have you as one of them. Your blog has become a regular internet visit for me. Thank you so much.

Interesting take on the topic. Yes, Jesus is the Tree of Life, but just as God originally was during Creation. Adam and Eve, as is our human condition, sought their own efforts in gaining knowledge and life for themselves. I actually just wrote a whole article about that very topic.

Okay, Pastor Sam........ Give us ample time and we just might take you up on your offer for next year. How great would that be?!?!? (at least for 'us'!) ; )

Many blessings to you and your precious family this Christmas and for the New Year. Keep the blogs coming... it's such a reminder of many years ago sitting in the back of the youth room anticipating your BIG little lesson-- you have been blessed and as a result, you bless the multitudes!

Thank you and God Bless You!!!
